Casa Panoramica - What's New?

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful season. We had a lot of fun, sometimes a bit too much, but no regrets eh?

Let’s see, most interesting news tid bit, well we have added a boiler to heat the swimming pool. It was a tad chilly this winter, but we are pleased to announce that the water now maintains an average of about 28C or 88F. (Occasionally it gets up over 92F). Nice!

Water, unbeknownst (spell check let that one pass, must be a real word) to the maintenance guy, was not always hot or in great supply to all of the ten washrooms or four kitchens. That has been corrected with the addition of two more hot water boilers on line and a new pump, and new shower curtains, valves, pressure and supply system, yadda yadda. The water is on.

We have added substantially to the plant species on the property. In addition to having Guava, Lime, Orange, Grapefruit, and Mango fruit trees, we also have pineapple and banana plants, all with fresh fruit in season. Many new flowering plants have been added, the bleeding green thumb continues to, well, learn.

Our Agave (tequila derives from the processing of this plant) plantation is taking hold, with some plants already reaching 3’ or nearly a meter in height. The Lechugia (Raicilla is made from this one, no Raicilla parties to report on as yet, will have to correct that soon) has rooted now and is surpassing the Agave in growth. (Can you bring more of that Brazilian Cane Rum?)

The Wedding.

Yes, we had one here on Feb. 29th (an anniversary every four years? Too good to be true). It was a beautiful day! Some guests which have become friends of ours, wanted reading lamps in their room the night before, so we went shopping the morning of and set them up. What a surprise when they came out and saw the place and ourselves decked out. David is up next, we think?

What Else?

All of the decks, patios, terrazzas, walkways, stairs etc., have been polyurethaned. They look great! New yard lighting also has been added, so no more dark, late night entries, except of course for the pool deck, that remains a haven for rendezvous of the cerebral kind? Whatever,……

Hope to see you again soon!

Oh! The roosters! Where have all the roosters gone? I think the neighbors bought them and moved them to a farm, they’ve been gone since the new year! Sweet silence! Thank goodness we have double pane windows! Imagine having only shutters or single pane glass like everyone else around here.

Oh, by the way, Cher no longer croones at the top of her lungs from the disco across the way, paid them a visit, no more need be said.
Cheers!
